Two police officers at the University of California, Davis were placed on administrative leave Sunday after they pepper-sprayed nonviolent student protesters Friday. Video and photo of the incident spread on the internet, prompting widespread outrage and renewed demonstrations on the university’s campus. UC Davis chancellor Linda Katehi said she took “full responsibility” for the incident, and, despite being inundated with calls for her ouster, she would not resign.
