Youth Gets 21 Years in Gay Killing

The California teenager who shot his gay classmate in the back of the head three years ago pleaded guilty Monday to second degree and voluntary manslaughter. Brandon McInerney was 14 when he killed Larry King (pictured) in a school computer lab. An earlier trial had resulted in a hung jury after some jurors felt the district attorney was being too harsh in trying McInerney as an adult. Prosecutors were planning a second trial when McInerney accepted the deal. Under its terms, he will spend 21 years in prison.
