"Mr. Baldwin is an American treasure," Alec Baldwin said in a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live, posing as the airline pilot on the flight that he was kicked off of for not turning off his phone (supposedly to play the game Words with Friends) while the plane was waiting on the runway. "On behalf of everyone at American Airlines, [I] issue an apology to Mr. Alec Baldwin," the supposed captain, "Steve Rogers" (which is the name of Captain America), said, so in essence Baldwin was apologizing to himself. Host Seth Meyers said: "Are you sure this is the right way to handle this?" It is.
