National Park Ranger Fatally Shot

A Mount Rainer National Park ranger was shot and killed Sunday morning in the park. Authorities have closed the 368-square mile Washington park while they search for the suspect, who is reportedly armed. The ranger has been identified as Margaret Anderson, 34, who had just set up a roadblock on a park road near the Longmire Ranger station on the southwestern corner of the park. The Washington state patrol and Pierce County Sheriff’s office are also helping with the investigation.
