Areas in a handful of Southern states, including Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina were left under several inches of snow Sunday. The storm is expected to move out to sea Sunday night. The storm reportedly caused dozens of car accidents in North Carolina and Virginia, as well as close to 20 along one strip of Tennessee highway. A massive 20-car pile-up was reported on Interstate 75 in Tennessee, with at least 60 people reportedly involved and five sent to the hospital. The storm also left more than 50,000 people without power in Virginia and West Virginia.
