Occupy London Camp Dismantled

The encampment was inspired by New York’s Zuccotti Park, and it met a similar end. Bailiffs and police officers surrounded the Occupy London camp in front of St. Paul’s Cathedral in the early hours of Tuesday morning, bringing an end to four months of protest in London. In a statement published by The Telegraph, St. Paul’s said it regretted that the settlement had to be broken up by police. According to police, some of the protesters resisted the eviction, and at least 20 were arrested. Most occupiers reportedly left peacefully, however.
