Looks like Apple’s past and future are about to hit eBay. Apple has sold out of initial supplies of the new iPad for Friday delivery—and with the current wait time for shipping being three weeks. In the U.S. and Canada, all pre-orders that were placed through Apple’s on-line store will receive their tablets on March 19, three days after the on-sale date—and those who placed their orders early in the process will still get their iPads on March 16. The iPads are expected to hit eBay, where they could fetch up to three times the list price. Meanwhile, the 1990s-era Apple WALT (Wizzy Active Lifestyle Telephone)—a phone with a touchscreen, handwriting recognition, fax support, address book, and caller ID that was introduced at trade fairs but never actually sold for retail—hit eBay, with an asking price of $8,000.
