Obama Campaign Aims to Diversify

Wanted: More African Americans to work on President Obama's reelection campaign. A March 21 email from campaign staff members shows that the higher ups feel they need to diversify in advance of the election. “The Obama for America campaign is in the process of really staffing up in states around the country, and I need your help to find qualified, African American candidates for some of these positions,” wrote Stefanie Brown, director of the African American Vote program. Campaign manager Jim Messina said the campaign is looking for a diverse pool of applicants and welcomes all minorities.
