Dick Cheney offered up some advice for Mitt Romney and crew on how to pick the right running mate. A former vice president himself, Cheney pointed out, "The thing that I think is important to remember is the decision you make as a presidential candidate on who your running mate’s going to be is the first presidential-level decision the public is going to see you make.” He also argued that a running mate should not be picked based on a candidate’s ability to attract certain voter demographics. “I think the single most important criteria has to be the capacity to be president.”
