Mubarak Transferred Back to Prison

Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was transferred back to prison on Monday, nearly one month after he reportedly suffered a stroke and was moved to a military hospital. Sentenced to life in prison on June 2, Mubarak was transferred to a military hospital on June 19 and medical sources said the 84-year-old was in a coma and using a respirator to breathe. On July 4, the military’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, Abdel Meguid Mahmud, had ordered the formation of a committee of medical experts to determine if Mubarak was well enough to return to prison. The doctors said Mubarak’s health is currently “stable with medication, and is considered good for someone his age.”
