Syrian rebels and government forces battled one another outside the Old City of Aleppo, a U.N. World Heritage site. The two sides were struggling for control of the country’s financial hub. “Rebels are coming from the countryside, but they are running out of ammunition and arms,” one opposition activist told Reuters. A large number of rebels were put in prison overnight and 15 prisoners were killed.
