Holmes is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, and could also face additional counts of aggravated assault and weapons violations stemming from a mass shooting last Friday in a movie theater in Aurora, Colo., that killed 12 and injured dozens of others. When James Holmes slipped out of a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colo., to allegedly open fire on the audience—killing 12 and injuring 58—he had only seen the first 30 minutes of the blockbuster. Now he wants to know how it ends. “Did you see the movie?” he asked a jail worker, the Daily News reports. “How does it end?” Holmes reportedly “was trying to look like he was sincerely curious,” an eyewitness to the exchange says, “like he had no idea why there was anything wrong with what he was saying.”
