After weeks of anti-China protests, pro-democracy politicians in Hong Kong are expected to get a boost in the upcoming election this weekend. The civil discontent sparked from plans for mandatory Chinese patriotism lesson in schools, since Hong Kong is semiautonomous from the mainland and has more freedoms for the press and demonstrators. Forty of the 70 legislative council seats are going to be decided during this election, and many voters are hoping reforms could come with this set of candidates. The results will be announced Monday.
