N.C. Elects Historic GOP Governor

Republicans are looking to take over gubernatorial seats in several key states, and early results called indicate solid progress. North Carolina elected Pat McCrory, the first Republican governor in the state in 24 years. Eleven states are voting for governors today. Democratic incumbents Jack Markell of Delaware, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, and Peter Shumlin of Vermont already won back their seats, so have Republicans Jack Dalrymple of North Dakota and Gary Herbert of Utah. Democratic incumbents Jay Nixon (Missouri) and Earl Ray Tomblin (West Virginia) face very close races.
