    Obama to Visit Burma

    As the notoriously closed Burma begins to open its doors, the White House confirmed Thursday that President Obama will become the first U.S. president to visit the country. He will be sitting down with both opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and President Thein Sein during a tour of Southeast Asia for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit that will also encompass trips to Thailand and Cambodia. The U.S. has opened up diplomatic relations with Burma over the last few months after the country elected Suu Kyi to Parliament and released political prisoners. Hillary Clinton was previously the most senior American leader to visit the country, back in December 2011.
