Opponents of Proposition 8, California's anti-gay marriage bill celebrate at Los Angeles City Hall on February 7, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the voter-approved Proposition 8 measure violates the civil rights of gay men and lesbians

Those wily justices! In a much-anticipated "orders list" released on Monday, America’s top judges revealed...nothing...about their intentions to take up gay-marriage cases. The Supremes had met on Friday to discuss whether to hear a challenge (or two) to the U.S. Defense of Marriage Act, and court watchers thought they'd tip their hand in Monday's announcement. Alas, we'll have to wait at least another week to know their decision.
