Industrial Production Up

America’s mighty industrial machine is showing signs of shrugging off the effects of Sandy and the fiscal cliff. The Federal Reserve reported Friday morning that industrial production rose a sharp 1.1 percent in November, reversing a fall in October. Meanwhile, Markit’s manufacturing purchasing managers’ index, a measure of factory activity, came in at 54.2, much better than expectations.
