David Fincher might have found his next "girl." After directing the American adaptation of the bestselling novel The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Fincher is now in talks with Fox to direct Gone Girl, the Gillian Flynn novel that has sold 2 million copies. But no offer is on the table yet. Fox had paid seven figures to outbid other studios for the rights to the book. Fincher has always been drawn to book adaptations, such as Fight Club, Zodiac, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Social Network, and he's still expected to direct the Dragon Tattoo sequel The Girl Who Played With Fire.
