    No Election ‘Despair’ for Ryan

    Rep. Paul Ryan may not have been standing where he wanted to be on Inauguration Day, but he’s trying to look on the bright side. Although the former Republican vice-presidential candidate has been keeping a low profile since his November defeat, he told The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday that he’s not feeling glum, because the race was closer than people think—coming down to about 500,000 votes. The Wisconsin representative also admitted that he couldn’t help pondering what could have been during President Obama's inauguration speech, but he is remaining chipper, because he gave up feeling despair for Lent last year.
