Awkward. BlackBerry proudly named singer Alicia Keys the company’s new spokesperson Thursday, an announcement that was accompanied by a tweet from Keys about how excited she was to “jump right in2my new role as Global Creative Director of @Blackberry.” Recent tweets the singer has sent, however, reveal that she used an iPhone to post them—despite being in an exclusive relationship with BlackBerry. Keys says she had used a non-BlackBerry device in the past, but no longer will. As Leslie Horn at Gizmodo asks, “Is this a consensual relationship or just business?”
