    GOP Preps Counter-Obama Plan

    Three days to go, folks. Congressional Republicans are drafting a proposal to give the administration flexibility in enacting the $85 billion in cuts that they say would protect vital programs as a counter to what President Obama is preparing. The White House says their plan won't make a difference in domestic and military trimming, but Democrats seem to indicate that they'll go along with the GOP if indiscriminate cuts are avoided. “This is the chance to do the big deal,” said Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. “I’m willing to raise revenue. I’m willing to raise $600 billion in new revenue if my Democratic friends would be willing to reform entitlements, and we can fix sequestration together.”
