    Senate Confirms Jack Lew as Treasury Secretary

    On Wednesday the Senate confirmed Jack Lew as Treasury secretary. His confirmation, in a vote of 71-26, came despite some questions over his work at Citigroup during the financial crisis. Lew replaces the often controversial Timothy Geithner, and he will face tough budget negotiations, a potentially worsening situation in Europe, and the continued implementation of post–financial crisis reforms.
