Add another gruesome twist to India’s horrific gang-rape scandal. One of the six suspects charged with raping and fatally beating a 23-year-old woman on a bus in New Delhi this past December has committed suicide. Ram Sigh hung himself in his jail cell using his clothes, according to the director general of prisons. The men’s trial begins in February, and they could face the death penalty. The female victim was honored by the U.S. State Department with a International Women of Courage award. “Her bravery inspired millions of men and women to come together with a simple message ‘No more,’” U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry told a ceremony on Friday.
