Passing the Torch

Romney Speaks at CPAC

From the ashes of defeat rises a politically influential phoenix? Mitt Romney addressed the crowd at CPAC Friday, his first major public speech since losing the presidential election to Barack Obama last year. The theme of the speech seemed to be passing the torch, as Romney used to occasion to tout the stars who could be the future leaders of the GOP, including Paul Ryan, Nikki Haley, Rick Snyder, and Scott Walker. He also encouraged Republicans to learn from his election missteps. “It’s up to us to make sure that we learn from my mistakes, and from our mistakes, so that we can win the victories those people and this nation depend upon.”
