Report: Matt Lauer Considered ABC

    This certainly isn’t going to endear Matt Lauer to the public. The Today show host apparently had nearly signed a deal with ABC before resigning his contract with NBC, which was then completed with a $25 million-a-year raise and a four-day workweek. Lauer would have been an ABC news personality, sometime co-host of Katie Couric’s talk show, and have an occasional role on Good Morning America. ABC executives apparently thought it was a done deal, but then co-host Ann Curry was booted from the show—and Lauer didn’t fight for her.
