A nephew of the mayor of Manchester, Illinois, is the main suspect in a shooting that left five people in the town dead, including two young boys. Rick O. Smith, 43, nephew of Mayor Ronald Drake, entered the back door of a Manchester house and shot the victims at close range, according to police. A sixth victim, a 6-year-old girl, was injured, and Smith allegedly carried her to another house. The victims have not yet been named, but police have confirmed that they were all related to one another. The suspect’s connection to the victims remains unknown. Smith is said to have fled the scene in a white sedan, after which he was shot and killed by police in a nearby town.
