From Bill Clinton to Kobe Bryant, support poured in across the web for NBA player Jason Collins after he came out as gay Monday. Fans, meanwhile, showed their support with customized orders for the Wizards center’s jersey. The team confirmed that “Collins 98” jerseys were the only orders they received on their online store yesterday. With his brave admission in a Sports Illustrated article, Collins has cemented his status as one of the biggest trailblazers in sports history. “I didn’t set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport,” Collins wrote. “But since I am, I’m happy to start the conversation.”
