A 13-year-old Ohio boy appeared in juvenile court on Monday and admitted to shooting and killing his mother because she asked him to do chores, records show. At the time of the incident, some three years ago, a relative reported that the shooting occurred following an argument over carrying firewood. “The spur-of-the-moment decision now will affect the rest of his life,” the defense attorney said. The boy hasn‘t spoken openly about the shooting since. The case is delicate because of his young age, “but it’s still a murder case,” County Prosecutor Steve Knowling said. The boy could be placed in a youth facility until the age of 21.
