Country singer Randy Travis is in critical condition following the surgery he underwent to relieve pressure in his brain. Travis suffered a stroke while undergoing treatment for congestive heart failure in the hospital on Wednesday night. A spokesman for the country-music icon said he is surrounded by loved ones. “His family and friends [are] here with him at the hospital request your prayers and support.” The 54-year-old has been hospitalized since Sunday for a viral respiratory infection. Earlier Wednesday, doctors described Travis’s prognosis as critical, but with “signs of improvement.”
