For anyone who misses the 2012 election (and who isn’t watching The Newsroom and reliving it), here’s a hint at 2016. Vice President Biden is coming to Iowa—specifically visiting a fundraiser that typically showcases presidential contenders, The New York Times reported on Sunday. Biden will be the keynote speaker at Sen. Tom Harkin’s steak fry fundraiser in September, and he will speak after 2012 Democratic keynote speaker Julián Castro, the mayor of San Antonio. Biden himself attended the steak fry in 2007, just ahead of the 2008 campaign, and President Obama made his Iowa debut there in 2006. Biden has ties to Iowa—he and Harkin go way back, and Biden attended the Iowa ball at the inauguration this year.
