The President surprised the world yesterday when he announced he would put a hold on a planned attack meant as retribution for a chemical weapons attack the U.S. and others say was committed by the Syrian government. Obama made the decision to seek congressional approval for any strike while on a 45-minute walk on Friday. Officials say he came to the conclusion alone that senators and congressmen who criticize his every move on Syria would have to be held accountable with a vote. Although Obama’s team has determined he doesn’t need a congressional OK to act, the question now is what happens if Congress says “no”?
