That Banksy really makes friends everywhere he goes, huh? The street artist slammed One World Trade Center in an op-ed on his website on Sunday, calling it the “biggest eyesore in New York.” “It would be easy to view One World Trade centre [sic—remember, Banksy is British, after all] as a betrayal of everyone who lost their lives on September 11th, because it so clearly proclaims the terrorists won,” Banksy writes. “Those 10 men have condemned us to live in a world more mediocre than the one they attacked, rather than be the catalyst for a more dazzling new one.” Oh and he got a Canada dig in there too: he said One World Trade Center looks like “something they would build in Canada.” He submitted the op-ed to The New York Times, but it was rejected.
