A new report from Hedge Fund Research reveals that hedge funds are on a hiring spree, and that entry-level positions at mid-performing funds get an average compensation of $353,000 per year including bonuses. Average compensation in the industry rose five to 10 percent, compared with a 5.5 percent increase for Wall Street banks. The report also shows that the average compensation for portfolio managers at large hedge funds was $2.2 million.
