Rand Paul needs to really relearn the whole citation system. BuzzFeed on Saturday accused the Kentucky senator of lifting 1,318 words of his book Government Bullies from a 2003 Heritage Foundation report. Paul included a link to the Heritage Foundation study in the book’s footnotes, but he did not indicate that he had used the same words as the study and not just sourced it. A Paul aide dismissed the accusation, saying that Paul had indicated in the book’s “notes and sources” that he didn’t individually research each case. It’s the second plagiarism accusation in a week for Paul, who was accused of lifting a quote from Wikipedia in a speech.
