What’s more bizarre, being fined for promoting “gay propaganda” at a Lady Gaga concert or alcohol use in Russia? A Russian court in St. Petersburg has fined the organizers of last December’s Lady Gaga show for “propaganda of alcohol consumption and homosexuality.” A complaint had been filed by a woman named Nadezhda Petrova, who said her 13-year-old daughter saw simulated sexual acts between women and was exposed to alcohol consumption. While the initial fine against the promoter Planeta Plus is minimal, it opens up the company to much larger damages in criminal court.
