One of the most beloved Houston Astros in the franchise’s history, Lance Berkman announced today that he will retire from baseball. He spent 12 of his 15 seasons with the team before playing out his last three years with the New York Yankees, the Texas Rangers, and the St. Louis Cardinals. “Physically, I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t think I can compete at a level I’m used to competing at,” Berkman said. “I’m excited about it to be honest. I think it’s going to be great.”
