Another Republican official has come out in support of gay marriage. Congressman Charlie Dent of Pennsylvania has officially become a supporter of same sex-marriage, but it came after a federal judge already ruled his state’s ban unconstitutional last week. In a statement released Wednesday, Dent said "Life is too short to have the force of government stand in the way of two adults whose pursuit of happiness includes marriage." Although it is only a small contingency, Dent is hardly the first Republican lawmaker to voice support for marriage equality. The GOP group includes Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lentinen (R-Fla).
