Cleveland is the lucky city to host the 2016 Republican National Convention. Chairman Reince Priebus publicized the convention locale Tuesday on Fox News, saying “We’re excited about bringing the convention to Cleveland in Ohio, and we’re excited about the decision. We think it’s a smart decision.” After months of lobbying, Cleveland managed to beat out Dallas. The city had been bidding for hosting honors since February and lost the competition to host the convention in 2008. Hosting the RNC Convention has the potential to bring significant funds to Cleveland. The 2012 convention brought $200 million to the Tampa and Florida economies.
