One would think that if you are a celebrity on trial for murdering your girlfriend, you would avoid high-profile places with lots of people. However, Oscar Pistorius eschewed this common knowledge Saturday and headed to a trendy South African night club, where he subsequently got into a fight with another patron. His rep confirmed Monday that the Olympian was involved in an “argument” with another clubgoer at the VIP Room in Sandton, South Africa. While tabloids have reported Pistorius’ scuffle with Jared Mortimer as a “bar brawl,” Pistorius media representative Anneliese Burgess denies such claims. “The individual, according to my client, started to aggressively interrogate him on matters relating to the trial. An argument ensued during which my client asked to be left alone,” she said. Burgess also added, “My client regrets the decision to go to a public space and thereby inviting unwelcome attention.” Mortimer said Pistorius was drunk and insulted him and his friends, but admits he did push him off his feet.
