    Palestinians Declare ‘Day of Rage’

Demonstrators protest against Israel's military action in Gaza outside the U.S. embassy in Jakarta July 25, 2014. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry pressed regional leaders to nail down a Gaza ceasefire on Friday as the civilian death toll soared, and further violence loomed between Israelis and Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

The day after 10,000 Palestinians protested on the West Bank, the Fatah political party called for Palestinians to have a "day of rage" to coincide with the final Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. (Fatah was founded by Yasser Arafat and is the party of the Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority.) Meanwhile, Secretary of State John Kerry is pushing for a ceasefire that both sides will agree on. Israel's security cabinet is meeting Friday to discuss the plan as Hamas fired a slew of rockets from Gaza into Israel. The death toll has now reached 815 Palestinians and 35 on the Israeli side.
