Tigers pitcher Evan Reed was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting a woman when she was “incapacitated.” After months of investigating, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged the reliever with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The woman, 45, said she and a friend had drinks at a bar on March 30 before Reed went with her to her hotel room at the MotorCity Casino Hotel. “At some point, the alleged victim finished an alcohol drink and began to feel odd,” said Worthy. The woman said Reed not only sexually assaulted her, but ordered her to leave the hotel room. This occurred hours before Reed pitched in the Tigers’ home-opener. Reed sustains that the sex was consensual. He is currently pitching in the minor leagues for the Toledo Mud Hens.
