A new study financed by the National Institutes of Health found that people who shun carbohydrates and consume more fat will shed body fat and have less cardiovascular risks. The study followed 150 men and women of all races for a year while they were limited in the amount of carbs or fat they could eat. In the low-carb group, participants had lost an average of eight pounds more than the low-fat group.
