A day after Rolling Stone published a bombshell story detailing an alleged gang rape at the University of Virginia’s Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house in 2012, the frat house was vandalized. Spray-painted messages criticizing the fraternity were found on the exterior, and several windows had been broken with bottles and cinder blocks. The fraternity chapter’s president said Thursday that Phi Kappa Psi voluntarily suspended its fraternal organization agreement with the school. University President Teresa Sullivan has not responded to the rape claims, and UVA officials won’t reveal her location due to “security concerns.” The Charlottesville Police Department has said it is in the process of reviewing the article and the information it contains. Rolling Stone reports that not one person has been suspended for sexual assault at UVA since 1998.
