Luis Figo, a former Real Madrid and Barcelona star, has announced his plans to run against current FIFA President Sepp Blatter, who has held the position for 17 years. Figo stated he was determined to reform the sports league that has far too often been associated with the word “scandal.” Figo is a two-time world player of the year and has represented Portugal 127 times, including its World Cup appearances in 2002 and 2006, as well as three European Championships. He poses the biggest threat out of those elected by the committee to run.
