Harrison Ford suffered injuries after he crashed a single-engine plane onto a Los Angeles golf course at about 2:20 p.m. local time. The actor’s two-seater World War II-era training plane crashed at the Penmar Golf Course in Venice, California. “A swath of his skin was missing. There was blood dripping down his face,” a witness told TMZ. Ford’s son, Ben, later tweeted: “At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man.” The actor was brought to UCLA Medical Center, said Los Angeles Fire Department Assistant Chief Patrick Butler in a press conference, adding: “I can report that the patient left the scene conscious and breathing.” Air traffic control audio reportedly indicated that Ford requested an emergency return less than two minutes after he had taken off. Ford, a longtime flyer, was involved in an earlier crash in 1999. The National Transportation Safety Boad is investigating the incident.
