Barry Bonds’ felony conviction for obstructing justice was overturned Wednesday by a federal appeals court, leaving no standing convictions against the former San Francisco Giants player who was investigated for illegal steroid use. Bonds had been convicted of obstruction for giving a long-winded answer. The court said there was insufficient evidence that Bonds’ reply was material. The overturning might help Bonds finally get into the baseball Hall of Fame.
