Some enterprising Taco Bell lobbyists who want Congress to help prevent franchise employees from unionizing sent 6,000 tacos to staffers. The company threw a free-food giveaway on Capitol Hill Tuesday, giving staffers all-you-can-eat fake Mexican food. Taco Bell lobbyists did not respond to requests for comment, but franchise owners told The Intercept that congressional staffers love the annual event—and ask them about it during meetings.
