Extreme climber Dean Potter was one of two men who died Saturday while attempting a BASE jump in Yosemite National Park in California. The 43-year-old, along with 29-year-old Graham Hunt, died after attempting a wingsuit flight from the 7,500-foot Taft Point, which overlooks Yosemite Valley and El Capitan. A state police helicopter spotted the bodies Sunday after a search team failed to locate them overnight. No parachutes had been deployed. Potter was a well-known figure in the rock-climbing community and was known to take his miniature Australian cattle dog, Whisper, on jumps with him.
