At least 17 people are dead, four of them in Houston, and 13 are missing after heavy rain and floods swept through Texas and Oklahoma over the weekend. Officials said the death toll is expected to rise as rescue efforts continue across the state. Some 350 homes have been destroyed so far and up to 1,000 residents are now homeless. Houston officials said the number of damaged homes could reach up to 4,000. A 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew has been imposed in the cities of San Marcos and Wimberley while rescue workers search the area. Seven people in Oklahoma have died during severe flooding and storms since Friday, according to authorities. President Obama said he reaffirmed federal support when he spoke to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. More severe thunderstorms, damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes are expected to again hit parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas on Wednesday, according to the Weather Channel.
