Nebraska's Republican Gov. Pete Ricketts says 10 executions will go ahead as planned despite the legislature repealing the death sentence in the state earlier this week. Ricketts says the repeal doesn't apply to the 10 inmates because they were sentenced before the repeal, which goes into effect in three months. The state's Attorney General argues that the repeal, which effectlvely changed the inmates' sentences to life in prison, violates the state constitution because only the Board of Paroles can change sentences.
